Position Summary

The Supervisor, Dispensing leads a team of technicians, ensuring efficient operations, compliance, and exceptional customer service. This role supports Empower’s mission to provide affordable, innovative medications that improve lives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leads and supervises a team of dispensing technicians, providing coaching, guidance, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
  • Ensures safe storage and handling of prescription drugs, including hazardous drugs and controlled substances, while overseeing inventory control and first in, first out procedures.
  • Develops and adjusts team schedules, delivers initial and ongoing training, and ensures adherence to policies, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Resolves customer conflicts, escalates issues when necessary, and collaborates with departments to maintain efficient operations and exceptional service.
  • Navigates internal systems, assists with dispensing and clerical tasks as needed, and fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and alignment with Empower's values.

 

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, organizational, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and act with integrity and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of Texas pharmacy laws, inventory management practices such as First In, First Out, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and pharmacy management systems, with the ability to quickly adapt to new software.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of management experience, with 2 years of pharmacy experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the Texas Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician.
