Position Summary

This role requires a proven accounting leader who excels at financial governance, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) compliance, AI-driven financial reporting, and automation-powered accounting workflows. From monthly close and financial statement preparation to tax compliance and internal audits, this leader will ensure Empower’s financial operations are world-class, efficient, and future-ready.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a best-in-class accounting strategy, ensuring financial reporting accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Leverage AI-driven accounting automation and predictive analytics to streamline financial close processes, forecasting, and real-time reporting.
  • Ensure full compliance with GAAP, SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley Act controls, integrating AI-powered risk assessment tools.
  • Optimize financial statement preparation, cash flow management, and budget variance analysis, ensuring financial accuracy and business alignment.
  • Deploy AI-enhanced internal controls, ensuring fraud prevention, audit readiness, and data integrity across all financial operations.
  • Oversee tax compliance, treasury management, and financial risk mitigation, ensuring Empower meets all regulatory and statutory requirements.
  • Enhance AI-powered financial forecasting, scenario planning, and revenue recognition models, enabling real-time financial decision-making.
  • Strengthen audit readiness and internal control frameworks, leveraging automation, continuous monitoring, and predictive analytics for real-time financial oversight.
  • Lead and develop a high-performance accounting team, fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and executional excellence.
  • Act as a strategic financial partner to the executive leadership team, ensuring accounting operations are seamlessly aligned with business objectives and growth strategy.

 

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear.   • Exceptional leadership, financial governance, and strategic problem-solving skills, with the ability to align accounting functions with corporate objectives and ensure execution at an elite level.
  • Proven expertise in AI-powered financial close automation, compliance-driven reporting, and predictive financial analytics, with demonstrated ability to optimize accounting workflows through technology.
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting, tax regulations, and global financial compliance, ensuring seamless adherence to all accounting standards and risk management practices.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of executive leadership experience in accounting, financial reporting, or controllership, with a proven track record of managing large-scale accounting operations in high-growth organizations.
  • Requires a Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, with strong preference for candidates with expertise in AI-driven financial automation, compliance frameworks, and digital accounting transformation.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required; Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) strongly preferred; Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred; Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred.
