Position Summary

The Pharmacy Technician I, Shipping ensures accurate, timely delivery of medications, supporting Empower’s mission to help people live healthier lives. This role upholds precision, compliance, and efficiency to enhance customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares accurate shipping labels and securely packages items, ensuring compliance with established procedures and patient information accuracy.
  • Verifies shipping addresses using FedEx Ship Manager, United Parcel Service WorldShip, or United States Postal Service Endicia software and selects cost-effective, secure shipping methods.
  • Tracks deliveries, resolves order issues with pharmacy and customer service teams, and alerts customers of any delays to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintains compliance with pharmaceutical shipping regulations, keeps the shipping area organized, and manages inventory of supplies.
  • Supports process improvements by participating in training, adopting new technologies, and providing feedback to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

 

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to thrive under pressure in team or individual settings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and skilled in interpreting technical documents and standard operating procedures accurately.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months experience working in material handling and/or shipping.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
